About Us

Practice Principal
Richard J Tomlin BSc(Hons)Ost. MSc(Paediatric Ost.) PGCert.ACE.FSCCO.
Registered Osteopath

I graduated from the British School of Osteopathy, London, in 1995 with a degree in osteopathy, and I then practised with Stuart Korth DO DPO FICO, one of the countrys leading osteopaths. I also gained an MSc in paediatric osteopathy from the Foundation for Paediatric Osteopathy in 2007.

I have been practising adult and paediatric osteopathy since I graduated in 1995, and have also taught at the Foundation for Paediatric Osteopathy and the British School of Osteopathy, where I gained a teaching qualification in 2012, the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic and Clinical Education. In 2019 I became a Fellow of The Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy. Osteopaths with this qualification are considered to be trained to a very high standard in ‘Osteopathy in the Cranial Field’.

I started The Askew Osteopathic Practice in 2009 and it is my privilege to help you. In my spare time I enjoy trekking, gardening, skiing and sailing.

What will happen at a Consultation?

We will ask you about your symptoms and any other relevant medical questions that enable us to come to an osteopathic diagnosis.

We will then examine you and we may ask you to remove some clothing for this. The treatment will involve releasing areas of tension with various manual techniques.

Appointments are one hour for your first appointment or half an hour for a follow-on visit. At the end of your first visit we will tell you if we think we can help, and how many treatments you might need.

Patient Protection, State Regulation and our Privacy Policy

All osteopaths are registered with the General Osteopathic Council, which regulates the practice of osteopathy in the UK. All osteopaths follow a continuing professional development programme to maintain their skills. Osteopaths usually follow a four year degree course in osteopathy at an accredited college to train to become an osteopath.
